Cell Phones and Electronic Items

Electronic items including IPODs, MP3 players, GameBoys, or any other electronic item is NOT PERMITTED on campus.  Cell Phones are permitted on campus, however they MUST be TURNED OFF and PUT AWAY in student backpacks for the ENTIRE SCHOOL DAY, including passing periods, recess, and lunch.  Students who bring cell phones to campus do so at their own risk.  Talbert Middle School is not responsible for the loss or damage of any electronic device that a student chooses to bring to campus.  The following consequences will be issued for any student who violates the Electronic policy including cell phones:

  • 1st Violation = Cell phone confiscated from student for remainder of school day and student is issued a verbal warning.
  • 2nd Violation = Cell phone confiscated from student for remainder of school day and student is issued an Administrative Referral including at least a 30 minute detention.
  • 3rd Violation = Cell phone confiscated from student, student is issued an Administrative Referral including at least a 60 minute detention.  Also, a parent or guardian must pick up the item from school administration for it to be returned.

Use common sense and make good choices!
